10YFP Board meets in India to strengthen global cooperation and action on SCP
The Board of the 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production (10YFP) met in Gandhinagar, India, alongside the World Circular Economy Forum 2026, bringing together Board members, government representatives and UNEP experts to discuss priorities for advancing sustainable consumption and production (SCP) and circular economy approaches.
The meeting was chaired by Annika Lindblom of Finland, Chair of the 10YFP Board, alongside Dr Amandeep Garg of India, Board Co-Chair. India hosted the meeting as countries and partners gathered in Gandhinagar for the World Circular Economy Forum.
Board members exchanged perspectives on national and regional approaches to SCP and the circular economy, highlighting policy priorities, implementation experiences and opportunities for stronger international cooperation.
A central focus of the meeting was the 2027 review of Sustainable Development Goal 12 at the UN High-Level Political Forum. The Board discussed how the 10YFP and the wider One Planet Network can contribute to preparations for the review and help strengthen the global conversation on sustainable consumption and production towards 2030 and beyond.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to connect the work of the 10YFP with related UNEP initiatives and the latest science on natural resource use. Janez Potočnik, Co-Chair of UNEP’s International Resource Panel, joined the Board for a dedicated exchange on strengthening the science-policy interface and the role of data and evidence in supporting effective SCP and circular economy policies.
